Choosing…
Every so often I go through tumblr and find some new blogs to randomly check and follow or not.
Here’s my basic way of determining if a blog is worth following, worth subscribing to, or otherwise noteworthy.
Looking at the tumblr page directly
LOSE POINTS - animated gifs, many text posts, stupid comics or frivolous crap, if I don’t click on more than one or two of the posts in the first 2 dozen, or subject matter that is not my cup of tea or pictures that aren’t up to Sethboyardee standards
GAIN POINTS - I start looking and immediately start selecting multiple posts that are worth checking out (ie: saving the photo to my own collection), original content, super-cute guys or specific subject matter that definitely gets the Sethboyardee approval), good size photos, offer an archive, offer an rss feed
Kind of a loose set of guidelines I guess
